Oh the guilt. My poor blog. If it's possible, having a 6 month old is actually more time consuming than a new baby. Although he's now in a good mood most of the time, as opposed to the 'newborn' constant sleep/scream cycle, the little man requires so much more attention these days and clearly he deserves it more than my blog. Well, that and I have rediscovered The Sims 3. Something had to give ;-)
I'm getting super exciting for this Saturday, I'm casting aside my 'mummy' rags and getting my glad rags on for a hen night of one of my best friends, who I am also a bridesmaid for (she was mine too!). Trouble is, having not worn a dress since I had Oliver, I actually have no idea which of the glad rags in my wardrobe still fit/look good on me. I mean I haven't technically changed dress size since being pregnant but that is wearing jeans and tops... skimpy, short dresses tend to be less forgiving! So I think it'll be a bit of a 'see what fits/looks good on the day' type of night out.... only because I've been too scared to try anything on beforehand!!
This month I have discovered I will get paid for the holiday time I have accrued whilst on maternity leave. Having checked, double checked and re-checked with my HR department that I won't have to pay it back if I decide not to return to work, we have decided that we're going to use it to book (or partially book, depending on how expensive our tastes run!) a holiday for the three of us in September after Oliver's *gulp* first birthday! Just somewhere in Europe that isn't too hot, I'm thinking a long haul flight to a Caribbean island wouldn't be the smartest move with a 1 year old! It'll definitely be nice to get some sun though. Any recommendations?
So I guess that means it's time to work on that bikini body (and train for that Swimathon!!)....
