The one with (Weaning choices)
Having re-read that paragraph, weaning seems to be the most obvious choice of topic. The whole subject is so confusing! Do you go down the baby led route or the purée route? Start at four months or six? We opted for a) a bit of both and b) five and a half months (just to be awkward!) so Oliver has been having baby porridge for breakfast for the last week or so and the last few days I mixed it with some apple puree which was a huge hit! Other favourites include chunks of banana and pieces of pitta bread (more à la baby led!) and some other 'not such' favourites include puréed carrot and parsnip. This one surprised me I'll admit but I'll just try it again another time as I am not convinced that any baby doesn't like the lovely sweet taste of those two vegetables!
We are also currently mastering the art of sippy cup/beaker drinking. He is very determined about this one and will insist on grabbing the cup out of my hands at the first opportunity. The only problem is that he hasn't yet realised he needs to tip the cup to get any water out so he then has to cry for me to tip it up (all the while desperately clinging onto those handles, making it rather difficult to tip it up at all!)
All in all, I'd say progress is pretty good (albeit messy). Anyone got any funny weaning stories to share?
