I was a bit late in submitting this post to Emma's Diary (it was due 17-8-12) so I'm not sure if it will ever go live or not, but it seemed a shame to waste it so here it is :-)
This is a perfect subject for me to cover as it (partially!) explains why I'm late for my post!! The other reason being that I just plain ole' forgot about it with all that's been going on around here.
Since I last wrote here, Oliver (as I have mentioned over in my own blog!) had discovered the joys of crawling, pulling up, climbing and general naughtiness. He is also now capable of a wicked temper tantrum when faced with the words "No!" or "Come back here!" I can't tell you what a shock this has all been.... in a good way ;-) I mean obviously not a shock, we knew it was coming but the speed this kid can clock up on his hands and knees is astonishing. Baby gates are now in full swing (haha, get it?) and I spend most of my days chasing him around from one mishap to another.
The only major incidents so far have been when he first learned to pull up and wasn't very good at it but nevertheless decided he was advanced enough to pull up onto a glider nursing chair (c'mon kid, a moving target? Really?) Needless to say, it didn't end well and we were sporting a small purple egg on our forehead for a few days after that. The second one was when he took a tumble down the two steps that lead down to our kitchen, after deciding he could navigate them.... head first. Doh. We do have a gate but as I'd left him watching TV in the living room (the other side of the house), I assumed I had a few minutes. I assumed wrong.
With only four weeks until his big birthday and only five weeks to go until our holiday, I'm wondering what other tricks he's going to pull out of the bag before then....?
